(Psa 27:14) Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

Learning how to wait on God’s timing is a difficult thing to do.

As leaders we are conditioned to “lead”, go first, take the first step, get out there in front, etc. If you have been receiving these posts for very long you have read some of the things I have written on the subject, such as the quote about pushing or pulling the string. We need to be willing to take that first step. After all, how can we expect them to follow something we don’t do.

As a believer I have tried for years to understand this Psalm. What does it really mean to wait on the Lord. David was giving us a very simple but very powerful truth.
Here is where I’m going with this.
Have you ever found yourself trying and trying to get through something and getting nowhere?
Have you ever been stumped on what the next move should be so you just tried one thing after the other and got little or no results?
Have you ever found yourself thinking, “I can usually solve this stuff, I usually know what to do here, why not now?”
Often, when these things happen we go to a mentor or colleague  or close friend who’s been there and done that to get advice on what to do. I certainly encourage you to do that. And sometimes that unlocks something and gets us unstuck, but not always.
Shifting gears for a moment, I believe that the Lords timing is perfect. I also believe that in what ever He is doing He is doing several things at the same time. Have you ever noticed when something just strangely works out, how it did by several things happening at the same time in unbelievable timing? Pretty cool huh? Well, I don’t think that was just luck. God invented multi-tasking. Sorry Bill Gates, you weren’t the first to think of it. The Lord is always doing many things all at the same time. That being said, He is perfect but we are not and He usually does things in our lives through the people and situations around us.
Ok, back to point. During the times we have talked about, I believe that we are to patiently wait on the Lord and his timing. It could be that He is working on getting other things lined up in order to move on our behalf as well. So if we aren’t getting anywhere, it could be that He is still getting things in order. That is when we wait, pay close attention, keep your eyes peeled, and watch for when the time is right. Then we move forward again. The difficult thing there is not stressing about it while we are waiting. That is where faith and trust in the Lord comes into play. I’d be glad to talk on that some time.

Be Blessed.
